WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT. . .

GOD

We believe in a loving God who is the source of all creation. He reveals Himself as eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and tells the redemption story of God rescuing a fallen world through the sacrifice of Jesus. It is our guide for holy living and a growing faith in Christ. We encourage people to leave man made creeds and listen to His Word speak through the Holy Spirit.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim 3:16-17

“For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:21

WORSHIP

We believe that God desires our worship to be genuine and passionate. We were created to praise Him and we should worship Him with our whole lives every day.

“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1

PRAYER

We believe prayer is essential to our spiritual and physical growth, both as individuals and as the church. We believe nothing is impossible with God and He is concerned enough to hear our prayers and powerful enough to answer them.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18

“Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” James 5:17-18

SALVATION

We believe we are lost without Jesus—that life is meaningless on this earth and we have no hope of Heaven after death. We believe that salvation is found in Jesus alone, through God’s grace, and there is nothing we can do to achieve this righteousness on our own.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5

BAPTISM

We believe baptism is our response to the grace God has offered. Immersion symbolizes our sharing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and the washing away of our sins. It is our pledge to live a new life devoted to God.

“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”Acts 2:38

"Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”Romans 6:3-4

COMMUNION

We believe the bread and cup remind us of Christ’s love and sacrifice. Every Sunday we celebrate His victory over death and anticipate His return one day when we will all be resurrected.

“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” I Corinthians 11:23-26
